STORY & PHOTOS
Flip, flip, flipadelphia! If you're dying to have a drink at Paddy's Pub from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" where the gang sometimes works but mostly drinks and does stupid and gross things, I've got bad news: it's not a real pub. However, you CAN track down the exterior used for Paddy's Pub. It's not in Philadelphia, but in Los Angeles.
You can see how the green door is just dressed up for filming when it makes an appearance in the show:
In real life, you can find the exterior of Paddy's Pub at 544 Mateo Street in Los Angeles.
I dare you to sing "Night Man" on the sidewalk and see if anyone notices.
You may have seen this location pop up a few times in other shows and movies as well. I did a double-take while watching "Parks and Recreation" one night when I swore Ron drove by Paddy's Pub. Sure enough:
It's definitely the same place. You can see it in episode 411, "The Comeback Kid". I also spotted it in an episode of "Castle" (in the fifth season, "After Hours"):
It even shows up briefly in the Johnny Knoxville vehicle "Bad Grandpa":
According to MovieMaps.org, it has also appeared in "Repo Man", "Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway", and "Lovelace". It seems like it's one of L.A.'s most go-to seedy locations!
