STORY & PHOTOS:
2010's tearjerker "The Last Song", starring former sweethearts Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, was filmed primarily on Tybee Island and in nearby Savannah, Georgia.
When Ronnie (Miley Cyrus) goes to the home of Will (Liam Hemsworth) and his family for the first time, they cruise down a long tree-lined drive before getting to the house. A very muddy Ronnie is impressed by the grand entrance to Will's family estate.
That's the Oak Drive at Wormsloe Historic Site in Savannah. And it really is pretty impressive in person, too.
You can see that they used the real entrance to Wormsloe in the film, and just covered the lettering so that it could pass for the entrance to the Blaklee family's mansion. (The home used as the Blaklee mansion is a totally different location.)
There's a $10 admission fee for adults to go to the museum and activities, but if you just want photos from the end of Oak Drive, you can do that from the entranceway without having to pay admission. (There is no plantation on-site that you can tour.) My mom and I visited while we were in Savannah, and we both thought it was gorgeous. The Spanish Moss is one of my favorite things about the South - it's creepy and romantic and atmospheric. Love it!
