STORY

My husband Aaron and I recently took a NYC TV & Movie Tour and one of the hop-off stops was at Hook & Ladder 8, the real FDNY firehouse that iconically appeared in 1984’s “Ghostbusters”:

The real firehouse and its firefighters proudly pay tribute to its movie heritage, lovingly maintaining a photo-ready exterior complete with signage and sidewalk art. Our tour guide Roseanne told us that sometimes the firehouse door is open and, if it is, tourgoers are welcome to walk in and look around — they may even spot more movie memorabilia!

My husband Aaron and I at the firehouse in July 2024.

This is a quick and easy visit for film fans if you’re in NYC! And if you take the same tour we did, you’ll get to stop at the firehouse, jump out, and take photos.
