The “Scream” franchise has filmed all across the U.S. — from California to Georgia to Michigan — but the fifth installment, 2022’s “Scream,” was filmed primarily in and around Wilmington, NC.
One returning character from “Scream 4” is Sheriff Judy Hicks, who’s just trying to hold it down in Woodsboro when here comes Ghostface again. And this time the horror hits close to home — literally — when Sheriff Hicks realizes that Ghostface is in her house and within killing distance of her showering son (Dylan Minnette). She rushes home to try to protect her son.
Unfortunately, just as she reaches her front door, Ghostface pops out and it’s curtain call for Sheriff Hicks.
The Hicks house is actually a lovely home in a historic neighborhood of Wilmington.
When my husband and I were there, the house was for sale; of course, my husband immediately looked it up on Zillow. (Naturally, it was out of our price range, haha.)
Fun fact: this home is on the same street as Peyton’s house and Haley’s house from “One Tree Hill” and Jamie’s house from “A Walk to Remember.”
