STORY & PHOTOS
I'm a huge fan of "Veronica Mars" (I guess you can call me a Marshmallow!) and a backer of the film's Kickstarter campaign. I was even lucky enough to attend the cast reunion at PaleyFest last year. In the past I've written about some filming locations from the show, but I was intent on tracking down some of the spots from the movie as well. My prized location was the Craftsman-style house that Veronica went home to when she decided to return to Neptune and help Logan. I knew they'd filmed in a certain area of Long Beach (just south of Los Angeles), and I kept my fingers crossed that they hadn't altered the house's number. From there I went to Google maps (using Street View and Earth) and searched nearby neighborhoods until I found the house! Here's the Google StreetView shot:
I was really excited to track it down and find that it looks exactly as it did in "Veronica Mars". Here's how it looks in the movie:
The movie Mars house was one of my first stops upon landing in California a few days ago. Can you tell how excited I was?
I believe they also used the interior of this home in the film:
The production most likely featured other streets and locations in the area, so if you drive around a little bit you might see some more sights from the "Veronica Mars" movie. Long Beach has been home to lots of other productions as well, including "The O.C." and "Dexter".
