"GIRLS". You love it or you hate it, and I love it. (Though not as much as my pal Alex, who loves "Girls" more than anyone.) He and I were both really excited for the "Girls" PaleyFest panel. We tandem-read (and loved) Lena Dunham's book Not That Kind of Girl while poolside in Miami last year, and Lena is one of Alex's heroes. It was a big deal to be there.
Judd Apatow, who exec-produces "Girls", was the moderator and introduced the episode to be screened. Awesomely, it guest-starred his daughter Maude Apatow... and she happened to be sitting in the same row as us, just a few seats away. She is adorable. We watched the episode and there was tons of audience laughter -- in keeping with this season's tone, the episode was really funny -- and then they introduced the panel. In attendance were EP Jenni Konner, Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Alex Karpovsky, Andrew Rannells, and writer/executive producer Bruce Eric Kaplan. (I have a big crush on Ray, so I was super happy that Alex Karpovsky was there!)
It was a really fun panel. Everyone was really sweet and really funny. Allison Williams is so gorgeous that you should not stare directly at her or you might go blind. Lena treated the whole audience like we were all her friends (which I'm sure we'd all like to be!). It was a great time. And Alex got picked to ask a question to the panel! An all-around success.
We got to say hi to the cast and snap a few photos after the panel; everyone was so nice. Lena was so kind to everyone and, like, doling out life advice to fans while signing autographs. Allison was a total sweetheart and so nice to me. I was able to take a photo with her and I would like to be her best friend, please.
Long live "Girls"!
