STORY & PHOTOS
Hopeless romantic Taylor Swift filmed parts of her music video for hit single "Mine" in the cute coastal town of Kennebunk, Maine. Swift and costar Toby Hemingway (a rumored one-time love interest whose name is the secret message for "Mine" in Speak Now's liner notes) shot scenes at Kennebunk's Christ Church, a quaint church on a side street.
Here's the video if you want to re-watch it:
The church only makes a brief appearance in the video, but fans will recognize the doorway and the yellow building in the background (from photos of filming) when they approach the real-life location.
This article from Seacoast Media details Taylor's day of filming in Maine and offers a few photos of the filming. Alex and I visited in September and snapped a few photos while standing in Tay's footsteps:
Apparently Taylor was quite taken with Maine, as she spent a little bit of time at the beach and later told Us Weekly that one day she's going to retire from music, move to Portland, and make jewelry on the beach. (Maybe that's when I will finally get to be best friends with her!) According to the Bangor Daily News, while in Maine she also spent time at Ram Island Farm in Cape Elizabeth and downed a burger at Becky's Diner in Portland's Old Port.
As a Maine native, it's nice to see my state on the screen and in the news once in a while. Thanks for putting a little piece of Maine in your world, Taylor!
