STORY & PHOTOS
You know what they say: "never trust a pretty girl with an ugly secret". One of the secrets of "Pretty Little Liars" is that the whole town of Rosewood is created on the Warner Brothers Studio lot in Burbank, CA. On the one hand, none of the places the girls go aren't real; on the other hand, you can visit them all by taking the Warner Brothers Studio tour. Let's take a look at Emily's house:
I love the porch! It's such a cute house. Emily's house sits just off the Midwest town square, and it's the same house that was used as Ross and Monica's family home a couple of times on "Friends".
The set used for the Fields' house is a practical set, meaning they can film inside as well as outside.
You can see that the interior of the set mirrors what Emily's house looks like on the show - check out the bay windows specifically.
It's possible that they filmed A's car crashing into her house here, or that they did it on an interior sound stage set. I'll have to ask my tour guide when I go back! (UPDATE: I asked a tour guide and he said they really crashed the car, and then had to put everything back together. They also blew the windows out in episode 505, when Toby's house down the street explodes.)
True to the show, the house that's used for Toby and Jenna's is right down the street from Emily's, just a couple of houses away. The facade used for Spencer's house, as well as Spencer's barn, are behind the house next to Emily's on the lot.
