#124: Stacey McGill... Matchmaker?

#124: Stacey McGill... Matchmaker?

Stacey gets a sitting job for a new BSC client, John Brooke, who’s a hottie with a body… of work. (He’s a mystery/crime/thriller novelist.) Ol’ Maureen McGill is a fan, and — oh god, I just realized I am probably the same age or older as Stacey’s mom was in this book — she and John Brooke hit it off. (Because, you know, Stacey’s mom has got it goin’ on.)

Stacey is thrilled, because she thinks her mom and Mr. Brooke are a great match; however, Mr. Brooke’s daughter Joni is PISSED and she commands that her brother Ewan be pissed too (but mostly he’s just pissed that his name’s Ewan). Joni makes effort upon effort to keep Mr. Brooke from dating Maureen, but Mr. Brooke falls head over heels anyway. Stacey and the BSC are busting their asses trying to calm Joni and Ewan down and help them accept the idea of Mr. Brooke and Mrs. McGill getting together. Meanwhile, plot twist — Maureen McGill is just not that into Mr. Brooke!

Now Stacey’s the one who’s pissed. She thinks her mom’s being dumb and passing up a great guy. But her mom, being a woman of age and experience, is like, “Stacey, he’s kind of a douchebag.” And eventually Stacey is like, “okay okay okay, do you.” These McGill women have to stick together.

Also, Mallory is still getting teased and tortured at school and is looking at boarding schools in Massachusetts! Will this ginger Pike be exiting Stoneybrook stage left? Only time will tell. XOXO Horse Girl
