Super Special #12: Here Come the Bridesmaids
Dawn’s dad is getting married to Carol, and Dawn is ready to make it all about herself! She’s rattled because the Barrett-DeWitt wedding is happening the same weekend in Stoneybrook, so not only will she not be able to attend, but half of the BSC won’t be able to attend her dad’s wedding in California. Dawn and Mary Anne are going to be bridesmaids in the CA wedding, and Dawn picks out matching fuchsia bridesmaid dresses for them.
Meanwhile in Stoneybrook, Stacey is going to be one of Mrs. Barrett’s bridesmaids while Mallory and Shannon watch all the kids, and Jessi is volunteering as a department store Santa Claus for Bellair’s. Mallory accidentally double-books herself with the wedding and Christmas caroling with Ben Hobart and some kids, and when she cancels on Ben they have a fight. Whoops. Mary Anne, Kristy, and Claudia fly out to Palo City, CA for the Schafer wedding. Kristy helps the super-casual and disorganized We <3 Kids Club plan a going-away party for Dawn. Claudia is acting as a “wedding consultant” to pay off her plane ticket, so she’s helping with flowers, food, decorations, and hairstyling.
Turns out that Dawn never told Mary Anne about being a bridesmaid, so Mary Anne freaks out a little bit but then comes around to liking the idea. Then, turns out that Dawn never talked to her dad and Carol about Mary Anne being a bridesmaid, and they are planning on just Jeff and Dawn as the wedding party, so Mary Anne is no longer a bridesmaid. Once she shakes off her whiplash, Mary Anne is pissed at Dawn - first she felt blindsided and now she feels forgotten. Of course, they eventually get over it and cry, hug, and make up. In the end, of course, the beach wedding goes off without a hitch.
Back in Stoneybrook, Shannon and Mallory are exhausted from watching the kids at the Barrett-DeWitt wedding. Stacey, obvs, shines in her role as bridesmaid and Marnie Barrett escapes from an inept Mallory to make a cute cameo during the ceremony. Everything goes well, and Mallory even makes up with Ben Hobart and they plan a different day to go caroling with the kids. All’s well that ends well, and at the end of it all Dawn ends up back in Stoneybrook.
