STORY & PHOTOS
When the kids from "Glee" aren't at McKinley High or Breadsticks, you might find them at local coffee shop The Lima Bean. It first appears in the second-season episode "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle", when Rachel, Mercedes, Blaine, and Kurt get together there and chat about Regionals. It continues to appear throughout seasons two, three, and four, with Kurt even getting a job there in the fourth season.
In real life, The Lima Bean set is a coffee shop of sorts - but it's not in Ohio. It's actually a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on the lot of Paramount (where "Glee" films), which doubles as the Paramount gift shop, and it's where most studio tours begin.
The counter area remains much the same, other than some added set dressing, and producers just have to move the Paramount merchandise out of the way. This is how it looks when it's functioning as a gift shop:
Studios are famous for using every inch of the lot to film, so it's no surprise that "Glee" producers stuck close to home for the set of The Lima Bean.
