Tonight I had the good fortune to attend An Evening with "Party Down" at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills (my happy place). It was an intimate screening/Q&A with the cast and creators (John Enbom, Dan Etheridge, and Rob Thomas - also the creator of one of my favorite shows, "Veronica Mars") of the critically acclaimed but underrated Starz hit about a bunch of miserable cater-waiters who'd rather be actors.
The show is really funny and has a fantastic cast, including Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan, Ken Marino, Megan Mullally, Ryan Hansen, and Martin Starr, all of whom were present for the fun event. I am a huge fan of everyone in the cast and all the projects they've been involved with. Adam Scott is on his way over to "Parks and Recreation", which is another great but underrated show, as the fate of "Party Down" is uncertain. Maybe we'll get a movie, if not another season? Fingers crossed.
My favorite part of the whole thing was that Ryan Hansen and Martin Starr were super affectionate toward each other (not to mention generally hilarious) and held hands half the time. The whole cast was exceptionally nice and funny. Afterward I was thrilled to death to snap photos with Ryan Hansen (I am obsessed with his character Dick Casablancas from "Veronica Mars") and Martin Starr (who was so amazing as Bill Haverchuck on "Freaks and Geeks"):
All in all it was another fantastic evening at the Paley Center. Can I just move in there?
